Clean Up Day at Shady Rest

LOVE Boerne Neighborhoods, a program of the Boerne Community Coalition, organizes a LOVE My Neighborhood Day each year.  These days include volunteers working alongside the homeowners for exterior cleanup and debris removal as well as coordinated activities and games for community children.

The Boerne Community Coalition will have “Love Boerne Neighborhoods” Cleanup day at Shady Rest on Saturday, October 30.

The Shady Rest neighborhood is a a mobile home park located on Cascade Caverns just east of Scenic Loop Road. At least once a year, in collaboration with Golfer’s Fore Others, we identify homes in need of repair and host a workday with volunteers to assist the families with the repairs and debris cleanup.

This year, we have two families who are themselves working on complete rebuilds of their recently purchased mobile homes, and we are coming alongside to help with the finishing touches. Both homes are in need of painting, one needs some trim work, and there is a third home with basic electrical and plumbing work.
