Summer is here! Summer is a great time for heat-loving plants such as peppers, squash, and tomatoes. If summer is too hot for you, now is a good time to plan for a fall planting season.
Out of gardening space at home? The Vineyard at St. John is a community garden that offers several plots for planting and growing. Gardening at the Vineyard offers a hands-on way for both young and old to learn the important skills of patience, planning, resource management, and responsibility.
The Vineyard is currently undergoing several changes to help improve the gardening experience for all with the goal to be up and running by the time the school year starts, if not sooner. Some of these new changes include new management of the site, cleaning of garden, rebuilding of beds, and widening of pathways, among other changes. If you would like to be a part of this development, or are interested in a future plot in the garden, please contact Christian Morales at 713-417-7738 or C.M.Morales@icloud.com.
Welcome to the garden!
