What We Believe

The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus Christ. It tells us who He is, what He has done, and how that changes everything for all of us.

What We Believe

St. John Lutheran Church beliefs: everything we do is centered on Jesus Christ. Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture, shaped by tradition, and lived out in community. Here’s what that means:

Christ-Centered

We believe that Jesus Christ is the heart of our faith. The Bible is God’s Word and our guide in all matters of life and belief. We hold to the historic Christian faith passed down through generations, and we trust the creeds and Lutheran confessions as faithful expressions of what the Bible teaches.

Mission-Driven

Jesus called His followers to share the good news and make disciples—and we take that seriously. Whether it’s across the street or across the world, we believe the Church is called to love, serve, and tell others about Jesus. Our mission begins in our congregation and reaches out to our community and beyond.

Traditionally-Grounded

We value the rich traditions of the Christian Church, especially those that reflect the truth of Scripture. Our worship includes practices that Christians have shared for centuries—like preaching, prayer, baptism, and communion. We also cherish our connections with fellow Lutherans and other faithful Christians across the globe.

Congregation-Focused

We believe local churches are the front lines of ministry. That’s why we work together in a spirit of service and partnership—sharing resources, offering support, and encouraging one another in ministry. Each congregation is unique, but we are united in Christ.
