Annual Turkey Project

Annual Turkey Project 2022

Wednesday, November 23

“Christian Men of Boerne” is a group of men from various churches here in Boerne that gather on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to prepare Turkey Dinners for the needy in Boerne.

It’s that time of year again, the men of St John will be participating in the 23rd Annual Turkey Project along with eight other area churches to feed the needy in Boerne.  2022 has been an extremely challenging year for everyone and there are a tremendous number of people in need here in Boerne, as food prices are higher than they have ever been before.  St John has committed to provide 40 meals this year and we will be collecting money to purchase turkeys, boxed goods, canned goods, rolls, and pies for the Turkey Day Project on Wednesday, November 23 at the Kendall County Fair Grounds.

On November 13 and November 20, we will be collecting donations to purchase the needed supplies. The money will be used to purchase turkeys, boxed goods, canned goods, rolls, and pies. We are looking to get donations of $25/meal to purchase the needed supplies. Please prayerfully consider contributing to this project to provide these meals to people in need here in Boerne.

A table will be set up in the Narthex on Sunday, November 13 and Sunday, November 20 to collect donations.

You can also make a check out to St John Lutheran and write ‘Turkey Day’ in the memo section and drop it in the offering plate on Sunday.

Or donate online now using the button link below and adding an amount to the ‘Men’s Turkey Project’ fund.

Please note, after all expenses have been paid, any remaining money will go to the Tuesday Men’s Breakfast group for a project that they see fit.
