Connection Groups

Fall 2020

Getting connected with a group is a great way to be involved in the life of the church. St. John has a variety of groups currently meeting that you are invited to get involved with! Contact and meeting information for current groups is below.

Education and Bible Study Groups

Sunday School – Led by Peggy Hoppes (

Sundays, 9:30-10:30 am, Rm 117

The psalms are a literary sanctuary, a textual place where worshipers speak in the very presence of God. The ultimate message of the Psalms is to praise the Lord. Now is the perfect time to study these hymns, to learn how to trust God and to turn to Him in all our struggles and joys. We will learn how to pray the psalms, to bask in God’s steadfast love, to experience His comfort, and to dwell in His grace.

Sunday School – Led by Lanne Brehmer (

Sundays, 9:30-10:30 am, Rm 216

In September we will begin a new study next week titled “30 Days in Understanding the Bible” by Max Anders. This study is designed to help you understand the Bible and what it is saying to you. It does require a commitment of 15 minute a day of your time which is good since we should all be spending at least that much time in studying God’s Word each day.

Precept Bible Study – Led by Pastor Mariola Bergquist (

Thursdays, 9:15 – 11:15 am, Family Life Center

Precept Bible Study is a Bible study for women.  We meet on Thursday mornings to study God’s Word and to pray for one another.  Our study is based on materials from Precept International (DVD, workbooks, and leader’s guide).
