Habitat for Humanity Has Scheduled Extra Build Dates!

October 19, 2018 and November 3, 2018

Thank you to all who joined us for our build days in September. This year our Lutheran Cluster build is behind schedule due to all the rain. Habitat has scheduled two extra build days to catch up. They are Friday October 19th and Saturday November 3rd.

If any of you would like to volunteer either of these days, you can sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090c49a8ab29a5f94-habitat8 or click on the button below to be taken to the online sign up form.

If we can get a group to sign up for Saturday, November 3rd,  we could meet at church and ride together as we usually do. Contact Scott Rutherford with questions: [email protected]

2018 BUILD DATES:

Habitat for Humanity Build Dates:

September 28th and 29th, 2018

Once again this year Saint John Lutheran Church has committed to help fund and build a Habitat home for a family in need in San Antonio. Working in
collaboration with other Lutheran Churches, the Lutheran Cluster
continues this mission of hope, and works towards giving a family a new life. This year’s family is the Htay Mo & Bu Reh family (pictured).

Homeownership through Habitat, is so much more than a safe, affordable home for a family in need. Together we provide families a way to end the desperate cycle of poverty where every day is a struggle to survive. Together we provide hope and share God’s love through our dedication and service to those in need. Together we lift up families and communities and make our city a better place for everyone! But this is only possible though the generosity of this congregation!!

We need volunteers for Friday and Saturday, September 28th & 29th. You can sign up to help on both days or just one day. No special skills needed and ages 14 and up are welcome! THESE ARE ALWAYS FUN DAYS OF SERVICE AND FELLOWSHIP! TRANSPORTATION AND LUNCH ARE PROVIDED.

Details: Meet at the church at 6:30 AM. We’ll leave by 7am and return to church by 5pm. Please wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the work and weather. Wear items that can get stained, ripped, muddy, paint-spackled, etc. You must wear closed-toed shoes – do not wear flip flops, backless shoes or Crocs. For safety, do not wear loose, oversized clothing or dangling jewelry.
